Twisted Sisters Coffee Shop in Mission celebrated its recent remodel and recovery from a water mishap with a ribbon-cutting Monday at the Johnson Drive shop.
The store was closed for more than three weeks prior to the Christmas holiday after a water line came loose from the ice machine in the middle of the night and flooded the building over a weekend. The incident led to an extensive remodel with replacement of drywall, flooring, cabinets, paint and equipment.
Ironically, the flood occurred the same night the sisters – Sandi Russell and Nancy Hansen – were accepting their award as New Business of the Year from the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber held a ribbon-cutting to belatedly celebrate the remodel and the re-opening. A full house of Chamber guests and elected officials filled the shop.
Twisted Sisters is open Monday through Saturday.
