Water tower repair begins in Roeland Park. WaterOne began repairs to the inside and outside of the water tower on 48th Street in Roeland Park. The project is expected to take eight to 10 weeks. The city has been discussing having the name or initials of Roeland Park painted on the tower at the end of the project.
Roesland Elementary teacher wins SMEF grant. Roesland Elementary teacher Kari Bowles was among the seven recipients of this year’s Shawnee Mission Education Foundation Excellence in Education grants. Bowles earned the grant for her project looking at the effects of an early intervention reading clinic for K-3 students. SMEF award a total of $26,689 in grants this year.
Local artist Kim Kramer to be featured at Kansas City Christian’s Art Event. Kansas City multimedia artist Kim Kramer is the featured creator at this year’s Art Event at Kansas City Christian. The Art Event will be next weekend, April 24 and 25, at Kansas City Christian. More information is available here.
Legislative town hall Saturday morning. The Johnson County Library and League of Women Voters will sponsor a town hall meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Corinth Library on Mission Road. Appearing will be Rep. Melissa Rooker, Rep. Stephanie Clayton, Rep. Jarrod Ousley and Sen. Pat Pettey.
