
The Prairie Village State of the Arts 2016 awards gala drew about 300 people to the R.G. Endres Gallery last week.
“The event was fabulous,” said Laura Wassmer, mayor of Prairie Village. “It was really well attended and the there was high quality work on display.”
The State of the Arts is one of the Prairie Village Arts Council’s annual shows and the competition awards $3,500 annually. Voting took place from Oct. 3-14 and this year brought back the People’s Choice award.
The juror for this year’s event was William Rose, a painter who has attracted a significant national following who’s works are in corporate, sports and private collections.
