Briefly noted: PV sets input sessions on new house design regulations

Prairie Village will hold a series of input sessions on proposed regulations for new home design in the area.

Input sessions set on proposed regulations for home design in PV. Prairie Village will host three public input sessions on proposed regulations for house designs in the city as officials look to address concerns about the impact teardown-rebuild projects are having on neighborhoods. The sessions will be July 9, 11 and 17. The city has also posted the information that will be presented at the sessions online here. And it’s posted a survey for residents to submit feedback online.

Gift from Shawnee couple’s estate to benefit people with communication disorders. The estate of speech pathologists Donald L. Robinson and Mary A. Carpenter announced this month that it will make a gift of more than $1 million to the University of Kansas Medical Center. The funds will provide assistance for people who need therapy for communication disorders but have limited financial resources.
