Hen House Market is leaving Merriam Town Center after more than two decades.

Hen House Market is leaving the Merriam Town Center at the end of this month.

The Kansas City Star reported that David Ball, president of Balls Food Stores, the company owning Hen House Market, said lease negotiations with Merriam Town Center “fell through” for the Merriam store, located at 5800 Antioch Road. The Hen House Market was one of the original tenants when the center opened.

Hen House Market in Merriam will close at the end of the business day July 29, the Star reported. The Merriam closure follows Hen House Market’s closing in the Northland earlier this year.

Merriam Town Center officials could not be reached in time for comment.
