Briefly noted: Fairway’s Greg Orman gets signatures needed for spot on governor’s race ballot; Westwood Ensemble season

Secretary of State’s office confirms Orman’s place on general ballot for governor’s race. Fairway resident Greg Orman and running mate John Doll will be listed as candidates on the general election ballot for Kansas governor this fall, the Secretary of State’s office confirmed on Friday. The election office verified that Orman and Doll had submitted enough valid signatures to be listed as independent candidates in the November election, where they’ll appear alongside Republicans Kris Kobach and Wink Hartman and Democrats Laura Kelly and Lynn Rogers. Westwood ensemble announces second season of performances. The Westwood Ensemble, a group of former student musicians who continue their passion for playing music with others after they’ve left school, has announced its second season of performances. The first performance, which will be Oct. 3, will feature a selection of baroque pieces. This year’s concerts will be at the Rose Theatre at Rockhurst High School.
