Final Final, new members-only club, opens in south Overland Park

The Final Final Club, a new member-only club that is serving up drinks, food and live music, is now open in southern Overland Park.

Where exactly? From 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. every Wednesday through Saturday, the private club is open at 12687 Metcalf Avenue in the Metcalf 127 shopping center.

  • Co-owner Bill George said southern Overland Park was selected as the site for the new venue due to a lack of late-night entertainment in the area.
  • “We wanted a place that has live music and is a fun place to go out south,” he said. “There’s nothing really out here like this, and nobody wanted to drive down to the Plaza or downtown, so the idea was to have it out here where it’s close to home.”

Background: The club officially opened in mid-May, but George said he and two friends, who are also silent partners in the business, first came up with the idea of it during the pandemic.

  • The name, he said, comes from a running joke between him and his partners about where they want to get their “final final” drink.
  • “We always said that we ran out of places to have a final drink, so [we] wanted a place to go have dinner and spend a couple hours,” George said.

Membership: As a private club, members will have to pay a $10 annual fee to retain their status. However, the new space is currently running a membership drive, so the public can come in with no cover for now.

  • With their membership, patrons can bring in their own guests and have a personal locker to store bottles of liquor that are not typically stocked at the club.
  • Each member will also have a personal four digit code that he or she will type into a payphone at the entrance of Final Final to unlock the club’s door.

Menu: Final Final has a selection of specialty cocktails, house wine, craft beer and limited food options on the menu.

  • George said the most popular cocktail has been The NRG, which has Hendricks Gin, Lillet Blanc, grapefruit and St. Germain.
  • For food, the menu features “small bites,” such as edamame and marinated warm olives, and a “big bites” section, which includes Ms. G’s Meatballs and several pizza options.
  • “The meatballs are a family recipe that is fantastic,” George said. “They’ve been our number one seller.”

Entertainment: In addition to drinks and food, the space becomes a live music venue from 8 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

  • “We recently started advertising that we were looking for bands and we’re booked through November right now,” George said.
