Pizza Shoppe at West 151st Street and U.S. 69 Highway in Overland Park has seemingly closed indefinitely.
Where exactly? Located at 7908 W. 151st St., the restaurant, which can be found in the Stanley Square Shopping Center next to Blue Valley Dental Care, is listed as “temporarily closed” on Google.
- The location has been taken off the company’s online ordering page on its website.
- Company officials have yet to respond to the Post’s inquiries about the cause behind the closure or when the restaurant could reopen.
What we know: A Google review left in May by someone named Daniel Bell indicates that a hand-written sign had allegedly been posted on the restaurant’s door for several days that read, “Sorry for the inconvenience we are closed for the night due to poor ownership.”
- Since then, others have reported trying to call the restaurant, only for the phone to continuously ring.
- “Phone was busy for 50 redials, so I drove up to order in person… closed for ‘remodeling,'” wrote someone named Matt Fraser, also in a Google review. “I didn’t see any evidence of remodeling going on.”
- As of Thursday morning, the location’s phone lines have been disconnected and the doors remain locked, but furniture can still be seen inside the restaurant and no signs were up indicating it was closed.
Other locations: Despite the temporary closure, Pizza Shoppe fans can still get their fix of the restaurant’s iconic thin-crust pizza and pink garlic salad dressing at one of its other Johnson County locations:
