Virtual reality arcade Sandbox VR coming to Leawood

A “futuristic” virtual reality arcade called Sandbox VR will open soon in southern Leawood.

The arcade is coming to the Town Center Plaza

Sandbox VR will operate on the north side of the Town Center Plaza shopping center, near GNC and X-Golf.
The arcade is the latest of several recent additions to the Leawood shopping center, including the Rockhill Grille and Café Europa.
Regular hours for Sandbox VR have not yet been posted to the shopping center’s website.

Sandbox VR offers a “futuristic” gaming experience

At Sandbox VR, groups of up to six people can play in a variety of computer-generated simulations, which incorporate sci-fi elements like zombies, aliens and Star Trek characters.
Tickets are $50 per person Monday through Thursday, and $55 per person Friday through Sunday.

This is the first Sandbox VR location in the area

The incoming Sandbox VR location will be the first in both Johnson County, the wider Kansas City metro area and the first in Kansas.
The arcade company has locations in several other states across the country, as well as in Canada, Europe and Asia.
