Leawood city leaders are considering a new mixed-use project that proposes new businesses and homes in the southern part of the city.
The city recently received an application for the project dubbed “Oxford Promenade,” which the Leawood Planning Commission will review in the coming months.

The project includes retail, residential, and office space
- The development’s proposed address is 4001 W. 135th St., on the southwest corner of West 135th Street and Mission Road.
- According to a listing by Missouri-based Pace Properties, the proposal includes 90,000 square feet of “high-end” retail as well as 294 “high-end” multi-family residential units.
- It also includes a three-story office building.
The site is one of the last undeveloped areas along 135th in Leawood
- The proposed development is across West 135th Street from Leawood’s Market Square Center and down the street from the Prairiefire shopping center in Overland Park.
- It’s also near the proposed site of the East Village mixed-use development (previously called Cameron’s Court), which awaits final city approval.
The city will review the project later this year
- The Leawood Planning Commission will review the project March 28.
- The item was on the commission’s agenda for next week — already delayed from January — but city staff said the project’s review was postponed for another month.
