Harley’s Hideaway closes in Shawnee, but owners hint at future plans

Harley’s Hideaway, a bar and grill that opened near downtown Shawnee in the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, has closed its doors.

The bar and grill located at 12200 Johnson Dr. in a space previously home to Game Changers Sports Bar and Margarita’s officially closed at the end of 2022.

On social media, Harley’s owners have hinted at future endeavors, though no exact plans have been announced.

Harley’s Hideaway’s menu was Caribbean-Southern fusion

  • Harley’s Hideaway first opened its doors in October 2020, focusing mostly on takeout orders before ramping up to full operations.
  • Its menu featured both meat and plant-based burgers, as well as chicken and seafood dishes.
  • Over the last two years, it played host to several stand up comedy shows, live music, trivia nights, sports watch parties and a local business holiday pop up shop.
  • Last August, Harley’s hosted country artist Abbie Hullinger.

Owners have plans for the future

  • On their Facebook page, Harley’s owners began hinting as early as last October about a potential closure and relocation out of Shawnee.
  • The restaurant officially closed on Dec. 31, 2022, and the owners have continued to allude to new locations — and potentially a new name — on social media.
  • When reached by the Post, Jessica Christman, one of the owners, did not wish to comment specifically on future plans but did thank customers “for their support.”
  • “We hope to be back soon,” she said in a text message.
