Top Soup Yunnan Noodle, which specializes in authentic Chinese soup dishes, has officially opened in southern Overland Park.

Located at 7948 W. 151st St., Top Soup Yunnan Noodle celebrated the grand opening of its restaurant last month.

The space was formerly occupied by Kokia Sushi.

Top Soup specializes in crossing-the-bridge noodles

  • Crossing-the-bridge noodles is a rice noodle soup originating from the Yunnan province of China.
  • “The broth for the soup is cooked for more than 24 hours, which brings out its natural flavors,” said Owner Lyn Hang.
  • The restaurant offers several variations of the soup dish, including options like tomato, spicy & sour, curry, Korean kimchi and pickled vegetable.
  • Customers can also customize their meal by picking their own protein of either sliced beed, beef flank, chicken or shrimp.

The restaurant also has housemade dumplings

  • Top Soup’s dumpling and fried pork buns are all made in house daily at the restaurant.
  • Other appetizers on the menu include Chinese black fungus salad, takoyaki octopus balls, cucumber salad, crab rangoon, egg rolls and edamame.
  • “Our food is made with all natural and organic ingredients… and a lot is homemade, including all of our sauces,” Hang said.

This is the first Yunnan Noodle restaurant in Overland Park

  • Hang said restaurants selling crossing-the-bridge noodles have grown popular on the East and West coasts, so she wanted to bring the dish to the Johnson County area.
  • “We also have a large Chinese community here with people who love these types of noodle soups,” she said.
