Overland Park ranked healthiest city in Kansas in 2023

Overland Park has been named the healthiest city in Kansas in 2023, according to new rankings by personal finance website WalletHub.

As the only city in Kansas to make it into the top 150, Overland Park ranked 32nd overall in WalletHub’s “2023 Healthiest & Unhealthiest Cities in America” list, which compared more than 180 of the largest cities across the country.

Overland Park won second place for the best healthcare

WalletHub used 43 categories to rank cities

  • Data for the rankings included the cost of a medical visit, fruit and vegetable consumption and the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated.
  • Based on the data, each city was given a score based on a 100-point scale, according to WalletHub.
  • Overland Park received an overall health score of 52.82.

The city has also been named ‘pickleball obsessed’

  • Offers.bet, a sports betting and online casino guide website, recently deemed Overland Park the most “pickleball-obsessed” city out of 50 cities it ranked in its 2023 list.
  • To determine the most “pickleball-obsessed” cities, Offers.bet analyzed Google volume for 921 search terms related to pickleball — and found that people in Overland Park searched for pickleball-related terms the most.
  • The ranking comes at a time in which several new pickleball courts have been popping up around Overland Park, including pickleball entertainment facility SERV that opened in February.
