A man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car late Wednesday evening in southern Overland Park.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of West 151st Street and Metcalf Avenue at 8:23 p.m.
Recorded radio traffic states that the man was attempting to cross 151st Street when he was hit by an eastbound car.
Overland Park Police say a review of traffic cameras at the intersection showed the vehicle had the right of way.
According to a witness, the man tumbled over the car and landed on the pavement.
The driver and several witnesses stopped to check on the man and call the police.
Police say no alcohol or drugs were involved in the collision.
Johnson County Med-Act transported the man to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening leg injury. In a statement Thursday morning, Overland Park Police said the man “sustained serious injury to his lower extremities but will survive.”
