Texas Roadhouse is now open in Overland Park.
The national steakhouse chain’s newest Kansas City area franchise at 9761 Metcalf Ave. is the first tenant on the former Sears site at 97th and Metcalf, now dubbed 97 Metcalf.
It’s the second Texas Roadhouse in Johnson County
- Overall, there are six franchises in the Kansas City metro, including one in Olathe.
- The chain restaurant (which, despite its name, started in Indiana) specializes in hand-cut steaks and “fall-off-the-bone” ribs.
- The Overland Park location is open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
What else is happening at 97 Metcalf?
- The development around Texas Roadhouse, which was once the southern end of the Metcalf South Mall site, is centered on a 93,000-square-foot LifeTime Fitness gym and health club.
- There are plans for a total of 10 buildings on the site for retail, offices and restaurants.
- In addition to Texas Roadhouse, tenants that have already been announced to be part of the redevelopment project include a QuikTrip, which is currently being built next door to the Texas Roadhouse, as well as a Panera Bread and Dutch Bros Coffee.
- Proposals for the site have gone through several iterations, including previously, a mixed-use project with apartments and a movie theater and, after that, an office building.
