Many of us have a bit more time during our work weeks during the summer.

Perfect for carving out an hour (or two) for a longer lunch.

Whether you’re doing business, meeting friends or just killing an afternoon on a random weekday, good lunch fare can go a long way towards making your midday feel (and taste) productive.

Not the multi-course, candlelit dinner spots for this week’s list (we’ve done that already).

What we’re looking for are the reliable lunch spots with quick, easy meals that are flavorful but aren’t so heavy that they’ll make you drowsy when you return to the office or continue on your errands.

As always, we prefer locally owned spots to chains. Tell us your favorite lunch spot and what we should order when we’re there.
