Annedore’s opening gelato and chocolate shop in downtown Overland Park

Johnson County mainstay Annedore’s Fine Chocolates expects to open a new chocolate and frozen treat shop in downtown Overland Park later this year.

The new shop will serve Annedore’s famous chocolate confections as well as Flying Cow Gelato.

“Part of the store will be a chocolate shop and the other part of the store will be Flying Cow Gelato,” owner Sheri Weedman told the Post.

Flying Cow Overland Park eyes fall opening

  • An exact date hasn’t been set yet, but Weedman said she expects the shop to open sometime in early fall.
  • Unlike the other Flying Cow shops, this one will serve made-from-scratch gelato all year-round instead of seasonably.
  • It will also make use of a large patio and courtyard space already present.

Overland Park shop will open at 7321 W. 80th St.

The new Overland Park shop has been a long-time coming, Weedman said, describing it as a “thoughtful decision” to grow into this neighborhood.

This area of downtown Overland Park has come to be defined by local businesses. Flying Cow and Annedore’s will sit next to the popular food hall Strang Hall and the newest Made in KC shop in Johnson County in the Edison District. That energy and vibrancy for locally-owned businesses is what attracted Weedman to the area.

“It just seems like a nice fit,” she said.

Annedore’s just opened a new gelato shop in Shawnee

  • Annedore’s has been handcrafting chocolates for three decades.
  • Today, it operates a flagship shop in Westwood Hills and a chocolate-making facility in downtown Shawnee just east of Nieman Road.
  • The Overland Park shop will also be the third Flying Cow gelateria in Johnson County, the second to open this year.
  • Popular items from the Westwood Hills store and Shawnee store will also be on the menu in Overland Park. That includes their pistachio and a variety of chocolate
  • flavors in gelato as well as some sorbets and specialty items for kids.
