Four more Blue Valley students win National Merit Scholarships

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation today announced that four more Blue Valley School District students have won National Merit Scholarships financed by the institutions where the students will attend college.

These students join the 22 Blue Valley seniors who were announced in June as among the highly select group of National Merit Scholarship winners.

The newly announced recipients are:

  • Abhilash Gotoor, Blue Valley West, Harold Otto Scholarship for the University of Kansas. Probable career field: Aerospace engineering.
  • Ibaad A. Chaudray, Blue Valley Northwest, Harold Otto Scholarship for the University of Kansas. Probable career field: Biology.
  • Evan C. Jiang, Blue Valley Northwest, University of Tulsa Scholarship. Probable career field: Computer science.
  • Sarah Mollan, Blue Valley West, Perdue University Scholarship. Probable career field: Chemical engineering.

The scholarships in the college-finance category provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Approximately 3,800 students nationwide received a college-finance National Merit Scholarship.
