Welcome to a new week, Shawnee Mission!

⛈ Today’s forecast: A thunderstorm watch is in effect until 12 p.m. Mostly cloudy. High: 95. Low: 79.

🚨 One thing to know today

The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is asking for 15 minutes of residents’ time to take a community health survey.

The data gleaned from the survey will be part of a broader “community health assessment” that will be used to craft a new countywide Community Health Improvement Plan by 2025.

Johnson County residents can take the survey online here.

If participants provide their email address, they will be entered to win a $100 gift card.

The survey asks residents to say how strongly the agree or disagree with statements related to a number of quality-of-life factors in Johnson County, including how walkable their neighborhoods are, how much chronic stress they feel and how fairly they believe resources are distributed among different communities.

The survey is open until the end of August.
