JCCC warmly welcomes new and returning students for an exciting Fall 2023 semester. Our campus is gearing up for activities, events and resources to help students achieve their educational goals.
Resources help students thrive
Students benefit from JCCC’s many support services as soon as they are accepted to the College. New students are paired with a Success Coach to help them navigate their first year. Counselors help students explore career options and plan out their class schedule. They can also help students understand how JCCC credits transfer to four-year institutions.
When it comes to coursework assistance, students can take advantage of free tutoring offered in every major subject—math, science, writing and language—through JCCC’s Academic Resource Center. In addition, they can get help with college-level reading, study skills and test preparation to set them up for success in any class.
Students preparing to enter the workforce should bring their cover letter and résumé to the Career Development Center for review. The Career Development team also offers workshops, mock interviews and helpful job advice. They even extend services to JCCC alumni!
The CoLab on campus provides high-tech, flexible work and meeting spaces for students, faculty, staff and the community. Spaces are available for individual or group use. Students can also get a free studio-quality headshot for their LinkedIn profile or résumé using the CoLab’s Professional Portrait Booth!
JCCC’s Billington Library offers useful in-person and virtual resources. Students can access nearly 600 million books, e-books, magazines, newspaper and journal articles through the Billington Library’s homepage. A handy “Ask a Librarian” online chat feature is also available.
