Modern Market Eatery, a Colorado-based restaurant company, is coming to Prairie Village.
The first Modern Market Eatery in the Kansas City area will be located at 4046 W. 83rd Street in Prairie Village’s Corinth Square.
Modern Market is taking over the former Growing Days Home store at Corinth Square, which closed earlier this year.
A Wichita-based group is behind the new location
- Thrive Restaurant Group, a family-owned business out of Wichita, is opening the Prairie Village location, according to a press release.
- Thrive, Modern Market’s first franchise partner, also owns and operates three HomeGrown restaurants in the Kansas City metro, including the one in Leawood.
- “We’re thrilled to pioneer the first Modern Market restaurant in Prairie Village,” said Jon Rolph, Thrive’s president and CEO. “We are committed to sharing our passion for healthier food options with the Kansas City community and introducing them to the great taste and wholesome benefits of Modern Market.”
Modern Market serves made-from-scratch foods
- There are no “artificial flavors, trans fats, hormones, antibiotics or unnecessary additives” in Modern Market’s food, according to a press release.
- The restaurant serves pizzas, protein bowls, sandwiches, salads, soups and sweet treats.
- Specific menu items include a lemongrass tuna bowl, a salmon Caesar salad, a Margherita pizza and green chicken chili.
- A full menu can be found online here.

The Prairie Village location should open in late fall
- Laurie Morrissey, a Corinth Square spokesperson, told the Post via email that the 2,000-square-foot restaurant is in the design and permitting phase.
- Once Modern Market opens, it will be able to seat 50 customers from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, “beginning later this year,” according to the press release.
- There are about 30 other Modern Market locations nationwide in Colorado, Texas and Arizona.
