Hammer & Nails Grooming Shop for Guys is set to open this October in Leawood featuring a premium barber shop experience to go with some top-shelf liquor and beer.
Lenexa-based owner Chris Lahna said he’s going to be able to juggle the close shaves, head-to-toe services (literally) and the liquor license guidelines.
“It’s like a barbershop…on steroids,” Lahan said. “It’s designed for guys. We want to get them the services they want, just not in a female environment.”
Drinks will go with your shave and a haircut
That means your choice of adult beverage along with any of the numerous services on the menu.
That includes: head shave, nose wax, CBD-infused scalp massage, eyebrow wax, beard trim and essential tea tree pedicure.
“This is a premium luxury experience for guys across the board,” Lahna said. “We take things that used to be a chore and turn it into a real experience that people look forward to.”
It will fill a vacant slot at Camelot Court
Located at the former John Josephine Salon at Camelot Court, 4324 W. 119th St., Lahna’s summer remodeling of the building will soon make way for the first Hammer & Nails in the market.
That means outfitting that space so that each client in the salon will be able to watch their own 55-inch TV, as well as have access to Bose noise-canceling headphones.
Then, there will be the full service bar that customers can order from so they can sip on a drink while they sit.
“It’s an environment designed for guys to feel good and look good and having all of these different services sets us apart,” Lahna said. “Guys traditionally don’t take time to take care of things like hands and feet.”
They are signing up members now
The Lenexa-based Lahna is now busy signing up “founding members,” offering exclusive benefits for those who sign up prior to the mid-October grand opening.
The monthly memberships begin at $67 and rise to $429 for access to unlimited services.
Walk-in service will still be available, albeit at higher rates.
