Editor’s note: This story has been updated to clarify that the Hawthorne Plaza shopping center is in southern Overland Park, not southern Leawood.
Almost two years after shuttering its only Johnson County store, clothing retailer J.Crew is on its way back to the area.
The company will open a new store in southern Overland Park later this fall.
J.Crew is coming to Hawthorne Plaza shopping center
- The store will move into a space on the southern end of the shopping center.
- Healthy eatery Eat Fit Go previously occupied the space.
- J.Crew will neighbor Spruce Design Home and Paint Nail Bar.
J.Crew sells “American style” apparel
- The retailer’s inventory caters to women, men and children.
- J.Crew carries multiple clothing items in a variety of brands, like dresses, blazers and cashmere sweaters.
- In addition to clothing, the company also offers home decor items like candles and ornaments, as well as home office equipment and travel gear.
The company previously operated in Leawood
- J.Crew’s Leawood store operated nearby at the Town Center Plaza shopping center for more than a decade.
- It shuttered at the beginning of 2022, and before that, the New York-based retailer closed several more locations at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- On the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro, J.Crew has another store at Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza.
