Welcome back to a new week, Shawnee Mission.
🌦 Today’s forecast: A chance for rain this morning. Mostly sunny, breezy and warm after that. High: 85. Low: 66.
🚨 One thing to know
“Welcome to town, Travis!”
That’s how the Leawood Chamber of Commerce unrolled the welcome mat for Travis Kelce, who is now apparently the Johnson County suburb’s newest (and now, most famous) property owner.
The chamber’s greeting came in a Facebook post in response to reports that Kelce had bought a $6 million mansion in Leawood, first reported by TMZ.
The celebrity gossip site credited the purchase, in part, to Kelce’s need for more privacy amid his budding romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Business Journal subsequently reported that Kelce’s new estate is a 16,000-square-foot, six-bedroom, six-bathroom retreat in a gated community near Hallbrook, that includes a wine cellar, backyard pool and six-car garage.
According to the online listing, the home was originally listed for $6.9 million but the price then dropped to $5.9 million.
