JoCo Notes: Two additions coming to Blue Valley West

It is Friday, Dec. 1, Blue Valley.

☀️ Today’s forecast: Cloudy with a chance of rain. High: 52. Low: 41.

One thing to know

Blue Valley West is on track for significant upgrades following city approvals.

The Overland Park Planning Commission on Monday approved two separate additions to the high school located at 16200 Antioch Rd.

Blue Valley West is getting a nearly 12,000 square foot gym and storm shelter addition located on the south side of the existing building.

Parking lot modifications are part of the gym and shelter addition, as well.

The high school is also expanding its parking lot into an undeveloped field to the northeast of the existing building.

Blue Valley West’s new parking lot addition will result in a total of 277 new parking spaces, but no new ADA spaces are required with this expansion.
