Construction begins on new Meddys in Lenexa

A fast-casual Mediterranean chain is working steadily toward its newest Johnson County location.

Construction has officially kicked off on a new Meddys location in Lenexa.

The company aims to open its new Lenexa restaurant in June.

Meddys is coming to Lenexa’s Sonoma Plaza

  • The restaurant is going up in the Sonoma Plaza shopping center, near the southwest corner of West 88th Street and Maurer Road.
  • Once completed, the building will neighbor McKeever’s Market & Eatery.
  • The growing commercial is already home to several other restaurants as well — including Panera Bread, Chipotle Mexican Grill and the Big Biscuit.

Meddy’s serves authentic Mediterranean fare

  • The chain’s menu features a number of traditional Mediterranean favorites.
  • That includes items like hummus bowls, shawarma wraps and falafel plates.
  • Meddys also serves specialty cocktails like the Meddy’s Marg and Pineapple ‘Tini.

This marks Johnson County’s second Meddy’s

  • The Wichita-based chain opened its first Johnson County location in Prairie Village in 2022, where it quickly gained popularity.
  • The restaurant debuted in Wichita roughly a decade ago.
  • On the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro area, the company also has a location in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood.
