A physical therapy clinic with a fitness focus has arrived in Johnson County.
Helio KC Physical Therapy, a locally owned physical therapy clinic, recently opened its doors in downtown Overland Park.
Helio KC operates at 8021 Santa Fe Drive
- The practice occupies a space on the south side of downtown Overland Park.
- Helio KC neighbors Mimi’s Prom and Essential Hair Design on Santa Fe Drive.
- Helio KC operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Helio KC offers a movement focus
- Helio KC treats a vast range of conditions, from wrist and neck pain to balance problems and sports injuries.
- The clinic treats these conditions through several services, such as manual therapy, dry needling and electrical stimulation.
- Sara Arnold, owner and founder of Helio KC, said her top priority by opening the clinic is helping people reach their goals — not just in terms of alleviating pain, but in improving their fitness too.
- The clinic is equipped with various fitness equipment, from treadmills and squat racks to weights and a push-pull sled.
- “I really think (Helio KC) is going to redefine physical therapy in Overland Park,” she said. “By managing people’s symptoms, but also by promoting fitness and quality of life.”
The clinic’s name has a “bright” meaning
- The word “hello” is Greek for sun, and Arnold said she also chose the name for its closeness to the word “heal.”
- Arnold said although Helio KC is still getting started, she likes the possibility of bringing on more therapists and opening more Helio KC clinics across Johnson County.
- “I’m most passionate about helping other people get more robust, so that they can do the things that are important to them,” she said. “Whether you want to maximize your performance in a sport or start a fitness program to be healthier, or you want to pick up your grandkid.”
