A popular Tex-Mex chain plans to expand its Johnson County presence.
California-based Chipotle, known for its burritos and bowls, has filed plans to open a new location in Olathe.
Chipotle will be at 14833 W. 151st St.
- The restaurant will occupy a space on the northeast corner of 151st Street and Black Bob Road.
- There, the new space will neighbor other restaurants like The Bar, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and McDonald’s.
- Officials with the company told the Post this week that the restaurant will open this fall, but did not have a specific opening date on hand yet.
- The new Olathe location will also feature a “Chipotlane” drive-thru pickup window.

Chipotle serves fast-casual Tex-Mex fare
- Chipotle offers customizable burritos and burrito bowls with white or brown rice and a variety of add-ins.
- Add-in options include meats like carnitas and smoked brisket, beans and various salsas.
- In addition to burritos and bowls, Chipotle also serves other items like tacos, salads, and chips and dip.
This marks the 20th Chipotle in Johnson County
- The California-based chain already has five locations in Olathe, in addition to this new one.
- Outside of Olathe, Chipotle has locations in Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Overland Park, Mission and Prairie Village.
- Across the state line, Chipotle also has 14 locations in Kansas City, Missouri.
