There are contested races for two seats on the Leawood city council this year, as well as two more uncontested races.
You can read candidates’ responses to our questionnaire below and see video of the forum the Post held earlier this fall.
Candidates in uncontested races were not asked to respond to the questionnaire or participate in the forum.
Ward 1

- Current Councilmember Mary Larson is seeking a third term and is running unopposed.
Ward 3
In Ward 3, Mitch Lohr, Rachel Rubin and Daniel Taylor are vying for the seat currently held by Councilmember Chuck Sipple, who is not running for reelection.
Due to Leawood’s own rules, this three-person race was not subject to a primary in August, so the top vote-getter in November will win the seat. Taylor is not running an active campaign.
