There is just one contested race for a seat on the Merriam City Council this year, while three other races are uncontested. You can read the candidates’ responses to our questionnaire below and see video of the forum the Post held earlier this fall. Candidates who are unopposed were not asked to respond to the questionnaire or participate in the forum.

Ward 1

• Current Councilmember Jacob Laha is seeking his second term and is running unopposed.

Ward 2

• Current Councilmember Amy Rider is seeking her second term and is running unopposed.

Ward 3

• Current Councilmember Christine Evans Hands is seeking her sixth term and is running unopposed.

Ward 4

Current Councilmember Reuben Cozmyer, who was appointed to the seat vacated by David Neal last year, is seeking his first full term. Rob Arnold is also running for the seat.
