Help us spread good news happening in Johnson County

Welcome to a new year in Johnson County!

Starting this month, we’d like to try something different. We’re concentrating more effort on highlighting the good things happening in our communities.

We’re not just here to tell you about big developments in Johnson County and introduce new businesses. We’re not just a watchdog for local government.

Our news site should also be a reflection of all that uplifts us, such as the student who takes home the top prize at the STEM fair, a nonprofit that achieves a special anniversary or a police officer who volunteers after hours.

We want to share about the junior varsity volleyball team that won a championship, the city department that earned an award and the business owner that achieved a big goal.

We’re here to tell you about the new art piece on display in a museum, the teacher celebrating a new milestone and the fundraiser serving a local, charitable purpose.

With our small (but growing) staff, we often lack the bandwidth to get to all of these stories. Nonetheless, we know many of our readers feel these stories are still worth sharing.

There are so many good things happening right here in Johnson County. So, twice a month, we will publish a rundown of positive news we come across.
