Ela, we will miss you so much!
Elzbieta (Ela) Choromanska, beloved wife of Leszek (Les) Choromański and devoted mother of Robert Choromański, passed away in a hospital in Merriam, Kansas, on May 31, 2025, leaving a great loss in the hearts of our family.
She was born in Warsaw, Poland, on November 11, 1950, to Lucyna Skowrońska and Ryszard Skowroński. She graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology in Warsaw, earning a master’s degree. In 1981, she emigrated to the United States and began her career as a librarian at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She then took her knowledge and skills as a librarian to the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, Kansas, and then to the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, until her retirement in 2017. She left a lasting impact on all who worked with her.
Elzbieta (Ela) Choromanska was the devoted mother of Robert Choromański, her pride and joy. She instilled in all she met the wonderful qualities of honesty, kindness and generosity.
Ela’s parents are long deceased and she is survived by her sister Małgorzata Skowrońska of Warsaw, Poland.
We will never forget the love she brought to our lives.

Elzbieta (Ela) Choromanska, ukochana żona Leszka (Lesa) Choromańskiego i oddana matka Roberta Choromańskiego, zmarła w szpitalu w Kansas 31 maja 2025 roku, pozostawiając wielką stratę w sercach naszej rodziny.
Urodziła się w Warszawie 11 listopada 1950 roku, jako córka Lucyny Skowrońskiej i Ryszarda Skowrońskiego. Ukończyła Politechnikę Warszawską w Warszawie, uzyskując tytuł magistra. W 1981 roku wyemigrowała do Stanów Zjednoczonych i rozpoczęła karierę bibliotekarki na Wake Forest University w Winston-Salem w Karolinie Północnej. Następnie przeniosła swoją wiedzę i umiejętności jako bibliotekarka do University of Kansas Medical School w Kansas City, Kansas, a następnie do University of Kansas w Lawrence, Kansas, aż do przejścia na emeryturę w 2017 roku. Pozostawiła trwały wpływ na wszystkich, którzy z nią pracowali.
Elzbieta (Ela) Choromanska była oddaną matką Roberta Choromańskiego, jej dumą i radością. Wpajała wszystkim, których spotykała, wspaniałe cechy uczciwości, życzliwości i hojności.
Rodzice Eli zmarli dawno, a przeżyła ją jej siostra Małgorzata Skowrońska z Warszawy, Polska.
Nigdy nie zapomnimy miłości, którą wniosła do naszego życia.
