Leon “Lee” Vernon Finegold, Jr. passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Lee was born in San Francisco, California on October 15, 1935. Stories of Lee’s childhood with his brothers always brought a twinkle to his eye. After graduating from Menlo Atherton High School, Lee enlisted in the U.S. Marines. A degree in Engineering from University of California at San Jose set him on his professional path as a plastics engineer.
Lee met and married his dear wife Judy Grady Finegold in 1960. Three sons soon followed and the family made the move from California to Leawood, Kansas. Lee loved mothing more than spending time with his family, playing golf with close friends, and using his green thumb to craft a beautiful garden. His calm demeanor and quiet strength will be missed by all who knew him.
Lee was preceded in death by his oldest son, Kevin Lee Finegold.
Lee is survived by Judy, his wife of 65 years, sons Brian (Sally) and Dennis, daughter-in-law Sarah Finegold, and grandchildren Jake, Tallulah, Jack, Annabel, and Ian Finegold. Lee is also survived by his brothers Jim Finegold and John Finegold.
