French-inspired bakery Paris Baguette now open in southern Overland Park

The new southern Overland Park cafe serves as Paris Baguette's second location in the city, and in Johnson County as a whole.

Not long after a French-inspired eatery’s debut in Overland Park, its presence in the city is already growing.

Café and bakery Paris Baguette officially opened its doors in southern Overland Park on Wednesday.

Paris Baguette opened at 15895 Metcalf Ave.

  • The bakery and café moved into a newly built space just off 159th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
  • There, it neighbors tanning and skincare shop Glo, which opened earlier this year.
  • Paris Baguette is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Paris Baguette serves sweet and savory pastries

  • Paris Baguette serves up a wide variety of sweets, from decorated cakes and tarts to doughnuts and sweet breads.
  • The café also offers various savory pastries like ham-and-cheese croissants and hashbrown bread, in addition to larger breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps.
  • Paris Baguette also serves coffee drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, americanos and macchiatos.

This marks Paris Baguette’s second Johnson County location

Based in South Korea, Paris Baguette has a North American headquarters in New Jersey.

Preceding the southern Overland Park location’s opening, a different franchisee, Mike Issa, debuted Paris Baguette further north, near the Oak Park Mall.

Kari Khandelwal, franchise owner of Paris Baguette’s southern Overland Park location, said the concept reminded her of the small neighborhood bakeries she grew up going to in India.

As a pharmacist by trade, Khandelwal said interacting and bonding with customers has always been her favorite part of her career.

A southern Overland Park resident herself, she looks forward to continuing to form those bonds by bringing Paris Baguette to her own neighbors.

“When people walk in, it makes me satisfied that I can see the joy in their faces,” she said. “My bakers come in almost every day at 2 a.m. I can see (the passion) in their eyes, and I can see it in our product, and that makes me happy.”
