A multi-restaurant destination in Overland Park officially has new owners.

Culinary Virtue, the group behind multiple Kansas City eateries, announced this past week that it has acquired Strang Hall in downtown Overland Park.

With the change in ownership comes multiple changes at the food hall, including the addition of Kansas City, Missouri-based eatery Beer Kitchen.

Beer Kitchen will open this week

  • The Kansas City-based gastropub will unveil its new food hall stand on Friday.
  • Beer Kitchen’s menu includes items like burgers, sandwiches, salads and “bar bites” like burnt end nachos and brussels sprouts.
  • The new Overland Park spot serves as the restaurant’s Johnson County debut.

More changes are coming to Strang Hall

  • Aside from the addition of Beer Kitchen, the food hall’s coffee shop, Strang Café, will also be “reimagined” with the addition of four local brands.
  • The café will serve coffee from Kansas City brand Prefix Coffee and syrup from Fika Coffee KC.
  • It will also begin serving pastries from Kate Smith Soiree (nearby in downtown Overland Park) and juices from Zen Donkey Farms.

Culinary Virtue owns multiple existing restaurants

  • In addition to Beer Kitchen, the Kansas City-based restaurant group is also behind barbecue restaurants Meat Mitch and Char Bar.
  • Via a media release, the restaurant group said it plans to bring in multiple new additions to Strang Hall.
  • “We’re excited to usher Strang Hall into its next chapter with a mix of fresh concepts and introducing beloved local brands that we know our community will embrace,” said Mark Kelpe of Culinary Virtue via the release. “Downtown Overland Park is one of the region’s most vibrant food communities, and our vision is to create a space that is welcoming while also serving as a destination for culinary discovery.”
