In a statement, police said the victim was in stable condition while the suspected shooter left the scene in a dark-colored pickup truck.

A man is in stable condition after being shot outside of a Shawnee bar late Monday night.

Shawnee Police were called to Sharks Restaurant and Billiards, 10320 Shawnee Mission Parkway, at 11:08 p.m. for a reported armed disturbance.

After police confirmed the scene was safe, Shawnee firefighters and Johnson County Med-Act paramedics responded to treat the injured man.

In a post on social media, Shawnee Police confirmed that an adult man was shot once and taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

The suspect left the area in a dark-colored pickup truck, police said. The truck was last seen eastbound on Shawnee Mission Parkway from the bar.

No additional suspect information has been released.

At the scene, police could be seen taking photos of a single casing on the ground near the east side of the parking lot.

“It is unclear whether the victim and the suspect knew each other prior to the altercation in the parking lot,” Shawnee Police said in their social media post. “The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 913-631-2150.
