Donald Robert Wood, 77, of Raymore, MO, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Don was born on February 7, 1948, to Robert Davis and Dorothy Goedert Wood in Kansas City, MO. He attended Shawnee Mission West
High School and attended college at Baker University and K-State University. He then went onto serve as a member of the Kansas National
Guard for 6 years. During which time he worked at and later became the co-owner of the Troostwood Garage where he worked for 50 years.
Growing up, Don enjoyed camping out with the Boy Scouts where he achieved the Order of the Arrow. As Don got older while working at Troostwood Garage, he became a car enthusiast/collector. He also found joy in watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the K-State Wildcats play football as well as attending his Tuesday lunches with a group of his high school buddies.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis (Bob) Wood, and his mother, Dorothy Goedert Wood. He is survived by his daughter,
Lindsey Wood of Kansas City, MO; his son, Michael (Leigh) Peters of Tampa, FL; his brother, Steve Wood, of Denver, CO; his sister, Sue Harrell, of Charlotte, NC; his two grandchildren, Reese and Kai Peters, of Tampa, FL; five nieces and nephews (Brett, Stephanie, Bobby, Matt and Amy); 6 great nieces and nephews as well as many friends who will miss him dearly.
