A Texas-based clothing retailer is preparing to shutter all of its stores nationwide — including two in Johnson County.
Women’s boutique chain Francesca’s is preparing to close all of its stores, with closing sales currently underway.
Francesca’s has two Johnson County stores
- The Texas-based retailer has a store at the Town Center Plaza shopping center in Leawood.
- Further north, Francesca’s also has a store inside the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.
- Employees at the Leawood store did not know exactly when the store would close, and employees at the Oak Park Mall could not be reached this week.
- Representatives from the Texas-based company did not immediately respond to inquiries from the Post this week.
The brand has been in business for 25 years
- Both of the Francesca’s stores in Johnson County have been in business for at least 15 years.
- The brand got its start in Houston, Texas in 1999.
- As of late 2025, Francesca’s had more than 450 stores across the country.
Another national chain recently left Johnson County
- At the end of 2025, fast food chain Hardee’s closed both of its remaining locations in Johnson County.
- Unlike Francesca’s, though, those closures had to do with a local franchisee, and the Tennessee-based company still has locations across the country.
- Hardee’s had locations in Overland Park and Olathe.
