Amidst cold temps, a new frozen treat shack brought a splash of summer to Johnson County this week.
Texas-based shaved ice company Bahama Buck’s debuted in Overland Park on Wednesday.
Bahama Buck’s opened at 11110 W. 135th St.
- The shop opened at the St. Andrew’s Plaza shopping center in Overland Park, on the northwest corner of 135th Street and Nieman Road.
- The newly-built space is near soda shop Swig, which opened at the same shopping center in August 2025.
- Bahama Buck’s is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

- Customers can choose from a variety (and combination) of flavors and toppings to create the snow cone of their choice.
- The Bahama Buck’s menu also features some pre-curated “signature” flavors, such as tropical blue coconut, strawberry cheesecake delight and peach cobbler.
- In addition to shaved ice, Bahama Buck’s also serves other items like fruit smoothies, flavored Red Bull drinks, tropical-flavored sodas, and frozen coffee drinks.
This marks the first Bahama Buck’s in Johnson County
- The new Overland Park shop also serves as the first Bahama Buck’s location in the wider Kansas City metro area.
- Bahama Buck’s initially launched in Lubbock, Texas in 1990.
- Today, the tropical-themed brand has more than 100 locations across the country, which includes two in Missouri.
