Italian restaurant Nico and Ana’s closes in Overland Park

The restaurant was open in Overland Park for roughly three years before its closure.

An Overland Park restaurant has closed its doors, at least for now.

Italian restaurant Nico and Ana’s announced its closure on Friday, after roughly three years in Overland Park.

Nico and Ana’s was at 6541 W. 119th St.

  • The restaurant occupied a space at the Fountains shopping center, off 119th Street and Lamar Avenue in Overland Park.
  • Before Nico and Ana’s moved into that space, it was previously home to SPIN! Pizza.
  • The Overland Park restaurant is the only Nico and Ana’s location.

Nico and Ana’s served Italian street food

  • The restaurant’s house specialty was a piada, which is a thin Italian flatbread wrap.
  • Nico and Ana’s was also known for pasta dishes like pasta primavera, baked ravioli, and creamy sausage rigatoni.
  • The restaurant also served sweets like tiramisu and cannolis.

What the socials post said

  • Signage on the door last weekend said the closure at Nico and Ana’s is “until further notice”, with an update about a potential “reopening” to come later.
  • The owners told social media followers on Friday that the closure is permanent, though they said they do hope to “regain strength” to start a new chapter in the future.
  • “We appreciate the love we received from the community,” the post read. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
  • Owners could not be directly reached on Monday for direct comment, and further specifics about a reopening were unavailable.
