After roughly four years, a convenience store is closing one of its Johnson County locations.
Iowa-based Casey’s will close its doors over the weekend in downtown Overland Park.
Casey’s is at 8059 Metcalf Ave.
- The store occupied a space on the ground level of the Avenue 81 independent and assisted living facility.
- There, it operated near Sugaring LA and Taste Buds Kitchen.
- The shop has been open in downtown Overland Park since September 2022.
The store will close in two days
- The downtown Overland Park location is one of the Iowa-based brand’s “non-fuel” shops, which means it’s just a convenience store and not a gas station.
- On Friday, employees said the closure was due to issues with the space’s kitchen, and that it will close on Sunday.
- Until then, all items in the store are 70% off.
- Casey’s still has several another non-fuel store on Johnson Drive in Mission, along with a gas station and convenience store in Roeland Park.
Something else is coming nearby
- Meanwhile, charcuterie company Graze Craze is planning a new store nearby, at 8025 Metcalf Ave.
- The company specializes in curated charcuterie boards with various cheeses and meats for special events.
- The new Overland Park store will serve as the Johnson County debut for the Florida-based company.
