Fairway orders owners of old gas station to stop construction work

Fairway ordered work on the old Mission Road Sinclair station to be stopped.

Fairway issued a stop work order to the owner of the old Sinclair gas station at 5938 Mission Road last Thursday in response to construction work that was being done without a permit. Construction crews had begun to tear out the pavement outside of the building’s garages. Fairway has advised the owners that they may continue construction once they’ve obtained a permit from city hall.

The owners, according to the Johnson County register of deeds, are RLM Properties, LLC, and 100 J LLC. The building has been under their ownership since 2007.

Many people have speculated that the Roney family may be interested in the facility as a new home for its service station. Roney’s closed its Village Shops location in October after 59 years in operation.
