Google Fiber hookups confirmed for Mission, Prairie Village

The day many Mission and Prairie Village residents have waited years for has finally arrived.

We got word from several residents in Mission and Prairie Village starting late last week that Google has begun installing Fiber connections to homes in the area. In fact, it’s been nearly four years since a group of Prairie Village residents started a petition to convince Google to come to the city.

Google opened sign up periods for Fiberhoods in Prairie Village, Mission, Mission Hills and Fairway this spring.

The company built out connections to start hooking up homes in the Westwood, Westwood Hills, Mission Woods, Merrian and Roeland Park areas last year.

Prairie Village and Mission were among the cities that signed agreements in 2013 with Google to bring Fiber service to their municipalities.
