New playground equipment coming to 3 parks in Prairie Village

The Prairie Village city council this week approved contracts to bring brand new playground equipment to two city parks and a substantial upgrade to the equipment at another. The council approved a contract for $149,672 with Athco LLC and Fry Park and Playground for two new structures at Taliaferro Park, a new structure at Windsor Park, and a refreshment of the equipment at Bennett Park. The choice of the new structures was informed by input gathered by city staff and parks committee members at a public meeting in April.

Installation of the equipment will begin this fall, and should take four to six weeks per park once it begins.
