Celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week with the Friends of Johnson County Library. Help meet our goal of 70 new members when you join today! The Friends sell used books so the Library can buy new ones. Join Friends like Andy Akright, pictured here with his son Robbie, and support your community library.
The Friends of Johnson County Library are holding our annual Membership Campaign. We helped open the Library and have been best Friends for 70 years. We’re one of Johnson County’s longest – serving membership groups: we were founded in 1952!
- Since 1999 we’ve donated $2.54 million to our Library – and we’re not done yet.
- Our volunteers are aged 13 – 93 and support us with more than 10,000 hours of yearly service.
- We accept and process more than 600,000 used books every year from generous Johnson Countians.
- We stretch public dollars in Library outreach programs like Incarcerated Services and Early Literacy.
- Our 600 dues-paying members, 500 volunteers and thousands of used-book customers love the Library!
