In a space previously dedicated to rock music and burgers, something new has officially begun.
On Friday afternoon, where people once sipped beers and listened to live music, new customers browsed displays of clothes, jewelry and home decor from a variety of local makers.
Kansas City, Missouri-based Boutique Collective’s newest space, dubbed “The Vine”, opened its doors last week at Overland Park’s Prairiefire development.
Boutique Collective opened at 5701 W. 135th St.
- The boutique opened in a space at the Prairiefire development, just off 135th Street and Nall Avenue in Overland Park.
- Restaurant and bar Rock & Brews previously occupied that space for roughly a decade, before it closed a few months ago.
- Boutique Collective is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Boutique Collective offers clothing, decor and gifts

The new Overland Park space leans into the same common botanical theme as Boutique Collective’s two other locations. Following “The Blossom” and “The Willow”, both of which are at Zona Rosa in Kansas City, Missouri, this one is “The Vine”.
Inside the new space, customers can find clothing for women and men, accessories, children’s apparel and gifts from 30 local makers and brands.
By the end of October, local coffee pop-up Lovely Day Coffee will serve coffee and matcha there. Owner Jennifer Reichert said she also plans to partner with local breweries and wineries to serve other libations too.
Turning the former restaurant and bar into a boutique now took some imagination.
But Reichert said a few aspects of the space helped shape the design, including the garage doors that open to the patio, which she hopes to use for various events like potentially mahjong nights and farmers markets.
“I love the garage doors; it just gives it a lot of character,” she said. “It’s a great space.”
This marks Boutique Collective’s first Johnson County store
The new Overland Park space is also the third overall for Boutique Collective.
Earlier this year, Reichert and her husband, Eric Reichert, opened Boutique Collective’s flagship store at Kansas City, Missouri’s Zona Rosa shopping district.
At the time, Jennifer Reichert said, the idea came from the desire to give local makers a platform without all of the challenges of running their own storefront.
“We love the concept of people owning their own business, but not having to have the overhead costs and having to be there at all times,” she said.
After the first Zona Rosa space opened in May, it quickly became full of vendors as demand grew. The Reicherts opened a second space at the same shopping center, to accommodate that demand.
So far, Reichert said, a similar excitement has been brewing out south as Boutique Collective has already received further north in Kansas City.
“People are loving that this is here, because there’s not a lot of shopping in this area,” she said. “We’ve got younger girls and we’ve got older women here, so I’m hearing people say that it’s great that we have (items for) all age groups and sizes. It’s a very good variety.”
