Pig & Finch, a restaurant specializing in English and American pub fare, appears to now be closed for good after almost 10 years of doing business in Leawood’s Park Place shopping center.
What do we know: A sign on the door of Pig & Finch at 11570 Ash St., said the restaurant is closed.
- A search for the restaurant on Google notes Pig & Finch is permanently closed, and Park Place’s online directory also no longer lists the restaurant as a tenant.
- Pig & Finch owners 801 Restaurant Group could not immediately be reached for comment.
- A spokesperson for KBS, the landlord at Park Place, later confirmed the restaurant has been closed since Aug. 25 and provided the following statement on Tuesday morning:
“While we’re disappointed in the owner’s decision to close Pig & Finch, we’re pleased that their other concept at Park Place Village, 801 Chophouse continues to perform exceptionally well at the property. Our leasing team is currently in discussions with several potential retail tenants drawn to the mixed-use destination’s highly walkable work-play environment, which sees high, consistent foot traffic. We look forward to bringing more unique and innovative experiences to Park Place Village in the coming months.”
Key quote: “Please visit our friends next door at 801 Chophouse,” the sign on the Pig & Finch door reads. “Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Where exactly: At Leawood’s Park Place shopping center, the restaurant neighbored Picasso Exotic Aquatics.
- Some of the items on the restaurant’s American, English and French-inspired menu includes roast prime rib, chicken schnitzel, shrimp scampi and lobster fried rice.
Bigger picture: Pig & Finch was owned by 801 Restaurant Group, and the Des Moines-based company is also behind Park Place’s 801 Chophouse.
- Outside of Leawood, 801 Chophouse has six other locations across the country.
- One of those includes a second Kansas City metro location at Kansas City’s Power & Light District.
- 801 Restaurant Group also operates a seafood-focused variation of the steakhouse called 801 Fish in St. Louis, MO.
