Welcome to Thursday, Shawnee Mission!
☀️ Today’s forecast: Sunny, breezy and much cooler. High: 34. Low: 15.
🚨 One thing to know today
Taco Republic on County Line Road in Kansas City, Kan., has closed for good.
In a statement, the company said it chose not to renew its lease at 500 County Line Road, at the corner of Mission Road across from Roeland Park and Westwood.
The full-service restaurant opened there in 2013 after hosting a food truck in the parking lot of a former gas station on the site.
Taco Republic’s other location at Prairie Village’s Corinth Square, which opened in 2021, will remain open.
The company says all employees at the KCK location, which officially closed Feb. 4, have been offered jobs at the Prairie Village location.
“We have a tremendous amount of gratitude for all of our guests and employees, who have shown so much passion and dedication to Taco Republic since opening in 2013,” the company said in its statement. “We’ve sincerely enjoyed our time in Kansas City, Kansas, and thank you for the many memories.”
