Aspiria in Overland Park adding apartments for ‘active’ adults

A new “age-restricted” apartment building is on its way to southern Overland Park.

Nebraska-based Meridian Development will break ground on the new “Aspiria Active Adult” apartment community next summer.

The apartments will go up at 11501 Outlook St.

  • The building will sit on the north end of the Aspiria campus off 115th Street and Nall Avenue.
  • Project plans call for 181 units across four stories and an underground parking garage with 172 spaces.
  • Residents will also have access to amenities like a clubhouse, a fitness area, an outdoor picnic area and a swimming pool.

Aspiria Active Adult is for people ages 55 and above

  • The building will open for residents toward the end of 2025.
  • Another apartment building was slated to go up near 117th Street and Nall Avenue, but Aspiria officials said this week that plan has been scrapped — potentially to be replaced by some new retail and restaurants.
  • Occidental Management, which owns Aspiria, still anticipates more apartments elsewhere on the 207-acre campus, but plans for that second multifamily development have yet to be finalized.

A go-karting facility is also coming to Aspiria

  • Further south at the former Sprint campus, a new Andretti Indoor Karting & Games facility is in the works at 11610 Nall Ave.
  • The roughly 103,000-square-foot venue will offer go-karting, virtual reality games, arcade games, laser tag and bowling.
  • The Florida-based company anticipates opening the new facility by summer 2025.
