The Overland Park Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist on Sunday evening.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the ramp going from westbound Interstate 435 to U.S. 69 Highway just after 5 p.m.
On arrival, firefighters reported a car and motorcycle had been involved in a crash, with the motorcyclist down on the pavement.
Recorded radio traffic indicates that the rider, a man in his late 50s, was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
No one in the car was injured.
The ramp reopened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Overland Park Police Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate the crash.
No other details were immediately available.
